Tour of woman diver huts

Hut previously used by woman divers for preparation and resting. Circular bamboo women diver hut, established for visiting tours. In the hut, there is a fire pit, and is occasionally used for welcoming visitors to Ijika. This hut was built by the eco musium project of Toba chamber of commerce.

There is abundance of abalone and turban shells in Ijika, and like the nearby neighborhood of Kuzaki, woman diver fishery has been popular since the early times.
There are even women divers over 70 years old. It is evident that they take pleasure in their livelihood, and they remind us of the way of life with nature that is largely lost in the modern time.
