A two day plan to get the most out of Ise Jingu and the sea of Toba.

It is a course to experience the charm of ocean surrounded Toba city and Ise Jingu which holds the history of more than 3000 years.



Day 1
Visit Ise Jingu where is considered as Japanese spiritual home and worshipped with many people from all over the Japan. After the visit to Ise Jingu, head to Toba aqarium, the full-hight glazing coral reef diving zone offers the feeling of being in the bottom of the ocean and much more from Mikimoto Pearl Island that is known as the world's first successful pearl farming island.

Day 2
Tour the Toba Sea-folk Museum diaplayed more than 60,000 actual materials related to the ocean via scenic Pearl Rd. Then take lunch while listening to the story of Ama (woman divers) in thier hut before visiting Osatsu Ama Museum.

The Shrine is dedicated to the tutelary deity (Amaterasu Omikami) of Japan, which is the ancestral god of imperial court. It's history is over 2000 years and is located in a clean, verdant area. It has carried on the ritual called "Shikinen Sengu" for more than 1300 years. This ritual is practiced every 20 years, and all architectural structures and votive objects are renewed at that time. The next ritual is in the year of 2013. This type of ritual cannot be found anywhere else in the world, and it's purpose is to bring in the freshness and youthfulness of the heaven to earth. Additionally, the Shrine practices about 1500 Shinto rituals annually praying for peace and prosperity in the world.

Toba Aquarium

Shimmei Jinja Shrine (Ishigami-san)

Shimmei Jinja Shrine is the local tutelary deity. The enshrined goddess (Ishigami-san) is said to grant a wish of all female visitors who offer prayers. This legend has attracted many women and continues to do so to this day. Hours: 9:00~17:00
